A new rule is going to come into effect from July 31. Now if children below 18 years of age are found driving any vehicle like scooter, motorcycle on the road and the police stops them, then strict action will be taken against their parents. Let us tell you that the parents of minor children caught driving a vehicle will have to pay a heavy fine of Rs 25,000 along with 3 years of imprisonment. These orders have been issued by the ADGP Traffic Department officer of Punjab. Under which, in case of driving of a minor by a minor, action can be taken against not only the parents but also the vehicle owner under Section 199A and 199-B of the Motor Vehicles Act.
