Melbourne: Apna Punjab Media: Malkit Singh, the first Gursikh from New Zealand to climb Mount Everest at the age of 53, was honored by the management committee of Punjabi Cultural Center Melbourne and Shri Guru Singh Sabha Kirlaburn Guru Ghar. Malkit Singh, born to father Beant Singh and mother Gurmail Kaur in Baur village of Fatehgarh Sahib district, has been breaking new milestones since his student days and this trend is still continuing. In his student days, Malekit Singh was a top student and also the best athlete of the university. Malkit Singh, who has a very warm nature, has determination like a mountain. After a degree in Agriculture from Punjab Agricultural University, he did MBA. After working in a corporate institute for some time, he came to New Zealand and remained among the toppers there and obtained a computer degree. Malkit Singh, deeply associated with Sikhism, has made a constructive contribution to the arrangements of Gurdwara Sahib here. Today Singh is established as a successful businessman. Malkit Singh killed brother in the limits of Gurdwara Sahib. The interesting thing is that small children asked hundreds of questions about it.
