New Delhi: Apna Punjab Media: Honorable Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in cases related to Delhi Excise Policy case. The court has now granted regular bail to Sisodia in the cases related to the excise duty policy quashed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Sisodia will come out of jail after 17 months. A bench of Justices BR Gavai and KV Vishwanathan directed Sisodia to furnish a surety bond of Rs 10 lakh with two sureties, surrender his passport and report before the investigating officer twice a week on Monday and Thursday. It said he would not make any attempt to influence witnesses or tamper with evidence. The Supreme Court had reserved its decision in this matter on August 6. The bench also refused to accept the ED’s request to bar Sisodia from going to the Delhi Secretariat or the Chief Minister’s office, as was done in the case of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, when he was sent to campaign for interim bail. Was provided. CBI and ED had argued that the petition was not maintainable as Sisodia would have to approach the lower court first.
