Ambala: Apna Punjab Media: Former Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij reached Paris Olympics bronze medalist Sarbjot Singh in his village Dheen. On this occasion, he congratulated the player’s parents and said, “Your son has brought glory to Ambala, Haryana and the country.” Today my hard work has paid off, when Ambala’s son Sarbjot Singh has won a medal for the country in the Paris Olympics.
Vij Dheen reached out and hugged and patted shooter Sarbjot Singh. He said that our government has provided facilities to the players and today these facilities are yielding pleasant results. Vij recalled that whenever Sarabjot Singh used to come to him, he would always say that he had high expectations from him, to which Sarabjot lived up to. On this occasion, Shri Vij honored shooter Sarbjot Singh by wearing a medal and presented a memento of Lord Krishna. Sarbjot Singh’s father also welcomed Mr. Vij cordially. Slogans of ‘Bole So Nihaal’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ were also raised on this occasion. Vij said in a state of happiness, ‘Twelve years he went to pick walnuts and brought back walnuts, India’s luck shone and won medals and brought back Sarbjot.’ On this occasion, Vij also played Bhangra with Sarbjot. Sarbjot Singh touched the feet of Anil Vij and took blessings. Let us tell you that Sarabjot Singh had won the bronze medal in the 10 meter pistol mixed event with Manu Bhakar in the Paris Olympics.
