Winnipeg: Apna Punjab Media: Recently, Chardikala Sports Club Manitoba hosted the first sports fair at the playing fields of West St. Paul Centre. Organized by club members Rupinder Brar, Jaggi Grewal, Sukh Brar, Randhir Brar, Kamal Sekhon and their entire club, the main objective of this sports fair was to encourage Canadian-born children of Indian origin to play their heritage sports as much as possible. In the fourteen year old boys category, Yuvraj stood first, Yuvraj Kang stood second and Jagjot stood third. In the fourteen-year-old girls category, Gurleen Virk, Gursirat and Gursimrat stood first, second and third respectively. Men and women of all age groups participated in the race. In this, races of different categories of 100, 200 meters were organized. Tea fair was also organized here. Bhangra and Gidda were played by children and speeches were given by old women.
