Farmers are a major part of the country’s population and only 3.15 percent has been kept for farmers in the Union Budget: Pandher
Chandigarh: Apna Punjab Media: Farmer organizations of Punjab have termed the budget announced by the Central Government for the financial year 2024-25 as anti-farmer. Farmer leaders say that the Central Government has not made any special efforts for the farmers in the budget nor has any attention been paid to the long pending demands of the farmers. Sarwan Singh Pandher said that a large part of the country’s population consists of farmers and only 3.15 percent share has been kept for farmers in the Union Budget. This is sheer injustice to the farmers and laborers. All India Farmers Federation President Prem Singh Bhangu has condemned the Union Budget as anti-farmer, anti-poor and pro-corporate and pro-rich. The hopes of solving the problems of serious agricultural crisis, inflation, unemployment and declining income of the people in the Union Budget have been completely dashed.
