Sacramento, California (Hussan Ladoa Banga) – It is reported that a sheriff in the American state of Kentucky allegedly shot and killed a judge, after which the sheriff has been arrested on charges of murder. Judge Kevin Mullins, 54, was shot in his chambers at the Letcher County Courthouse in Whitesburg, Kentucky, just after noon, according to Kentucky State Police spokesman Matt Gehart. Upon receiving the information at around 2.55 pm, officials and medical personnel from several law enforcement agencies reached the spot. All efforts to save the judge, who was shot several times, failed and he was declared dead on the spot. A preliminary investigation has revealed that Letcher County Sheriff Shawn Stines fired shots at a judge after an argument in court over some issue. Gayheart said the case is still under investigation. Sheriff, 43, was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree murder.
At the beginning of the incident, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear gave information on social media that a district judge has been shot. The Governor wrote that a district judge has been shot dead in Letcher County. He further said that violence has increased significantly in the world, I pray that a way for a better future is found.
