New Delhi: Apna Punjab Media: In a major blow to the Aam Aadmi Party ahead of next year’s assembly elections in Delhi, senior leader and transport minister of the national capital Kailash Gehlot left the party today. Gehlot, a prominent leader of AAP, has cited recent controversies and unfulfilled promises in his resignation. In a letter written to Chief Minister Atishi, Najafgarh MLA Gehlot tendered his resignation from the cabinet with immediate effect. In a separate letter to AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Gehlot also resigned from the primary membership of the party. He also shared the letter on social media platform ‘X’. Referring to Kejriwal’s old residence, Gehlot claimed that the party is facing shameful controversies like ‘Sheeshmahal’. He alleged that instead of fighting for the rights of the people, “you are busy fighting for your agenda, thereby stopping the supply of basic services to Delhiites.” At present there is no reaction from Aam Aadmi Party on the issues raised by Gehlot and this development.
