In response to the water crisis, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government formed “quick response teams” on Tuesday to monitor the main water distribution network and ensure there are no leakages. Water and Revenue Minister Atishi stated on X on Wednesday, “Given Delhi’s severe water shortage amid the heat wave, measures are being implemented to prevent any water wastage…”
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a heatwave in many parts of Delhi. The city is likely to see a partly cloudy sky with heat wave conditions and strong surface winds. The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 44°C.
Additionally, Delhi experienced a significant power outage on Tuesday afternoon, lasting nearly two hours due to a malfunction at a sub-station of the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) in neighboring Uttar Pradesh. Delhi minister Atishi said. “This is due to a fire at sub-station of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) in Mandola, UP,” she wrote in a post on X.
