New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has refused to entertain a plea challenging a trial court notice to Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal in a money laundering case under the Excise Policy. Kejriwal had moved the high court after the charge sheet was filed against him. Kejriwal has asked the high court to set aside the trial court order as no sanction was taken to prosecute the former Delhi chief minister.
Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri said the matter would be heard on the same date (December 20). I have several pending cases. Kejriwal had sought that his plea be heard before December 20.
After the court refused to change the date, Kejriwal’s counsel requested that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) be directed to provide a copy of the reply to the plea in advance. “Whatever you file, give a copy to them also,” the court told the ED counsel. The high court had on November 21 refused to stay the trial court proceedings against Kejriwal in the money laundering case. The high court had issued a notice to the ED seeking its response on the plea filed by the former Delhi chief minister.
