Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will be honored with ‘Oman Chandy’ award

Thiruvananthapuram: Apna Punjab Media: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been selected for the ‘Oman Chandy Lok Sevak Award’ instituted in the memory of senior party leader and former Kerala Chief Minister late Oommen Chandy. The ‘Oman Chandy Foundation’ announced the ‘Oman Chandy Public Servant Award’ today, three days after the leader’s first death anniversary. The winner of this award will be given Rs 1 lakh and a statue made by renowned artist and filmmaker Nemam Pushparaj. A statement issued here said that Rahul Gandhi is a national leader who listened to the problems of the people and solved them through ‘Quit India March’. The award winner was selected by an expert jury headed by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, the statement said.
