Calgary: Apna Punjab Media: The meeting of the Calgary Writers Association was held here at Koso Hall. During this, Colonel Pratap Singh’s poetry book ‘Meri Kavi Kiari’ was presented before the people. During the beginning of the program, Sukhwinder Singh Toor mesmerized everyone by singing the poem ‘Loot’ from his poetry collection in his melodious voice. After this, Jaswinder Singh Rupal read his paper on the poetry book. He said that poetry has two sides, the thematic side and the metaphorical side. Colonel Pratap Singh has mainly led a restrained and dry life of a soldier, but his poetic works written on various social and religious subjects are full of emotions and sensitivities which take the reader along with them. From the point of view of metaphor, the poet does not accept restrictions, the poem seems to be composed spontaneously because there are no restrictions on the voice of the heart. Gurnam Kaur said that the scope of Colonel Pratap Singh’s knowledge is very wide. I am not a critic but as a reader I have enjoyed every work.” He quoted the poems and described the lessons learned from them. Balwinder Brar said that a writer does not always have to remain in the world, but the writer’s books will confirm his presence in the world. The author wants to create a world that is perfect in every respect. The titles of the poems show how deep the poet’s connection with Punjab is.
