Rome: Apna Punjab Media: In an important program organized by the Association of Pakistani Christians in Italy in collaboration with the Jubilee Campaign of the Netherlands, the panel members informed the international community, European parliamentarians especially the Italian legislators about the persecution of the Christian community. Pakistan has called for appropriate action to end it, using diplomatic channels and advocating for legislative reforms. Abuse of blasphemy laws and forced conversions were raised as important issues in the program. During the press conference, the new book Under Threat of Death: A Mother’s Faith in the Face of Injustice by Shagufta Kausar and Eugene Bach, published by Whittaker House, was released. The book narrates the tragic experiences of Kausar facing blasphemy charges in Pakistan. Speaking in the program, Kausar shared his story, in which he said that he was given many opportunities to convert to Islam to avoid punishment. Despite death threats, he refused to give up Christianity. He said, “Christians in Pakistan are like sheep without a shepherd.” He thanked Lorenzo Malagola and Professor Shahid Mobin for organizing the event and allowing him to share his testimony of eight years of imprisonment.
