Chandigarh: Apna Punjab Media: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is on a tour of Gurugram and Delhi. Meanwhile, he met Yuzvendra Chahal, a member of the world-winning T20 cricket team India in Gurugram. CM Saini honored Chahal with a medal and memento. The Chief Minister discussed with Chahal regarding encouraging local youth in the field of cricket. Team India won the T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa in Barbados on 29 June. Yuzvendra Chahal, who hails from Haryana, was a part of the 15-member Indian team, due to which he was honored by Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini. During this time Chahal’ s family was also present there. CM Nayab Singh Saini wrote on Twitter, “Being a part of the world-winning Indian cricket team in the T20 World Cup and meeting Yuzvendra Chahal, the son of Haryana’s soil. Yuzvendra Chahal has inspired countless youth across the country including Haryana towards cricket and congratulations and best wishes to him and the entire Indian team for this wonderful victory.
Team India won the T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa in Barbados on 29 June. In that match against South Africa, India won by 7 runs. India did not lose a single match in the competition and ended its ICC trophy drought after 11 years. After winning the final match of the World Cup, all the players of the team including captain Rohit looked very emotional.
Rohit and Virat Kohli had tears in their eyes. The Indian team received a warm welcome upon reaching home. The team met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and then took part in the victory parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, where the team was felicitated by the BCCI.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, honored the player by giving him a medal.
