Sunam Udham Singh Wala: Apna Punjab Media: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said here today that the State Government should follow the footsteps of great martyrs like Shaheed Udham Singh to restore the ancient glory of Punjab and activate the youth in socio-economic progress. . The country is moving forward by making partners. Referring to the patriotic work done by Shaheed Udham Singh, the Chief Minister said that Punjabis have an important place in the national freedom struggle and we are proud of their bravery and unique contribution. On the demand of MLA Aman Arora, the Chief Minister promised to modernize Sunam’s Shaheed Udham Singh Stadium and renovate the bus stand. Claiming the construction of Malwa Canal, the Chief Minister said that for the first time after independence, a canal is being constructed. He said that about Rs 2300 crore will be spent on this 150 kilometer long canal and its water will irrigate about two lakh acres of fertile land.
Bhagwant Mann said that soon a dam is being built on the Ravi river, which will generate about 206 MW electricity. He said that this dam will also provide canal water to Doaba region. Referring to Gurbani, the Chief Minister said that his government is committed to providing water, soil and clean air and there will be no shortage of budget for the maintenance of these three elements. He said that efforts to incorporate Punjabi language into Artificial Intelligence (AI) have been initiated and renowned Punjabi historians, poets and writers have already joined this noble initiative. Bhagwant Mann said that it is the need of the hour that Punjabi language should not lag behind in the pace of development. On this occasion, he also honored the heirs of martyr Udham Singh.
