In Chandigarh Punjab News, it is reported that the Punjab Assembly will host a one-day “Student Session” on November 26, where students from 11th and 12th grades of government schools will participate as members. This will be the first-ever student session in the Assembly and will run for the entire day.
Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has instructed each District Education Officer to select one student from every Assembly constituency. The student from a ruling party constituency will play the role of Chief Minister, while the student from the opposition constituency will serve as the Leader of the Opposition.
In constituencies where the current MLA is a minister, the selected student will take on the role of that minister. A student from Kotkapura constituency will act as the Speaker during the session.
The Punjab Assembly Secretariat has begun preparations. 117 students have been finalized and will receive training on Assembly rules and procedures, with special coaching to ensure they understand their roles.
Secretary Ram Lok Khathana stated that all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure the student session is educational, well-organized, and engaging, as highlighted in Chandigarh Punjab News.
