Chandigarh-Manali highway closed, tourists stranded due to landslides at 3 places

Mandi: Apna Punjab Media: Chandigarh-Manali National Highway between Mandi and Pandoh is closed since 9:30 pm last night due to heavy rains and landslides at three places (mile 5, mile 6 and 9). While small vehicles are being sent through the alternative route Kataula and Gohar, a large number of vehicles are stranded on both sides. Mandi ASP Sagar Chandra said debris has been cleared at Mile 5 and Mile 6, but it is expected to take some time to clear the blockages at Mile 9. He said that although the National Highway is open between Pandoh and Ott, traffic is affected due to vehicular congestion near Diur Nalla and Yogini Mata Temple. To reduce crowding, police are making arrangements for one-way traffic at these places.
