New Delhi: Apna Punjab Media: The Central Government has started talks with farmers to discuss and resolve pending issues including the Minimum Support Price (MSP) issue. In the initial phase of the dialogue, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan met farmer representatives and leaders. Chouhan promised that long and continuous discussions will continue until the farmers’ issues are resolved. Chauhan said that suggestions have been received regarding strengthening the MSP system, which will be considered. The Union Minister has decided to meet farmer representatives from across the country every Tuesday. It is noteworthy that no representative of the farmer unions sitting on the Shambhu border dharna was present in today’s meeting. Around 50 farmer leaders participated in today’s meeting held at PSUA campus of ICAR. Chauhan said that today was the first round of talks and farmers have raised issues related to crop insurance scheme and MSP. BKU representatives from UP, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Maharashtra participated in the meeting.
