Canada has decided to tighten its 8891-km-long border with the US from east to west after President-elect Donald Trump announced a 25 per cent tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico as soon as he takes office. There are about 100 approved crossings across the border. The additional funds were announced after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau held a meeting with state chief ministers. US President Donald Trump recently said that due to the lack of strictness on the border between the two neighboring countries, wrong people and goods enter America, which needs to be stopped. He blamed Canada and Mexico for the lack of strictness. An increase in the export tax could be disastrous for the Canadian industry. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), which is responsible for securing the country’s border on Canada’s behalf, has announced the release of more funding to increase its manpower and equipment.
