London: Apna Punjab Media: A 17-year-old London-based Indian schoolgirl has won a silver medal for Team India at the European Girls Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI) competition in the Netherlands. The Indian contingent gave its best performance in this competition with one silver medal, two bronze medals and one honorable mention. Allan School Dulwich student Anya Goyal took on the challenge of top coders from 50 countries in this prestigious international competition for students interested in computer science. The competition took place over the weekend in Veldhoven. Students interested in mathematics came up with innovative solutions to solve a series of challenges set for the teams. “I am very proud to win the silver medal for India at the European Girls Olympiad in Informatics at a time when competitive programming is emerging as one of the most popular sports across the world, especially in India,” Goyal said.
