Ottawa: Apna Punjab Media: There has been a big decline in the number of students going to Canada from India. A surprising trend is being seen. Despite an 85-90 per cent visa approval rate in the second quarter of this year, there has been a sharp decline in the number of Canadian visa applications from Indian students. The most important thing in this is that this decline is being seen in Punjab also. Punjab alone sends 70 to 75 percent of the total Indian students going to Canada. This decline is 70-80 percent compared to last year. Whereas Canada has not imposed any kind of limit.
Apart from this, spouses of students studying in undergraduate courses were also allowed to accompany them. According to the report of Indian Express, education consultants say that these days visa approvals in Canada are very high. Even applicants who were rejected multiple times previously have been granted visas.
Visas were given to people above 40 years of age. Pinnacle Immigration Consultant said that for the last 3-4 years, a large number of students from India, especially Punjab, went to Canada, which led to visa backlog. However, new restrictions and increased financial requirements have discouraged many new applicants. This is the reason for the decrease in the number of students.
