Overall trophy awarded to Kwantlen Polytechnic University
Surrey: Apna Punjab Media: A function was held at the City Hall here to award the winners of the Inter College Sports Meet 2024 organized by the International Students’ Union. Apart from a large number of students and players from various colleges, BC Commerce Minister Jagroop Brar, Pix CEO Satbir Singh Cheema, Surrey City Council Mayor Brenda Locke, Media Director Prabhjot Kahlon, Bylaw Officer Gary Singh, BC United Media Director Nav Chahal, Advocate Naya Gill, Sukhwinder Singh Chohla, BC Conservative candidates Tegjot Ball, Joditur, Mandeep Dhaliwal, BC United’s Amritpal Singh Dhot, radio host Harjeet Singh Gill, director of community and media relations Haroon Ghaffar and other celebrities attended. These leaders appreciated the celebration of the International Students Union and said that sports play a very important role in our lives. A good player can achieve success in every field of life. The speakers told the international students that you have come to one of the best countries in the world which offers many opportunities for everyone to succeed with honesty in its system. During this program, the winners of the sports meet and teams of various sports were honored with medals and gifts. Meanwhile, the overall trophy was awarded to Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Players of this university won 11 gold medals, 13 silver medals and 9 bronze medals in these games. Excel Career College players, who stood second in the overall trophy, won 7 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals in these games. Western Community College, which ranked third, won 8 gold medals and one silver medal at these games. A total of 847 athletes from 15 colleges participated in this Inter-College Sports Meet 2024. Of these, 104 players were winners. On this occasion, Bhangra team of students presented Bhangra. Comedian Harmeet Kohli brought his witty color to the stage. Cabaret dance items shared the experience of cultural exchange. In the end, International Students Union President Jashanpreet Singh and colleague Jograj Singh Kahlon thanked everyone.
