Sydney: Apna Punjab Media: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has reshuffled his cabinet and reappointed both the home and immigration ministers. Albanians today announced the first reshuffle of their ministry and cabinet in preparation for the next general election. As part of the changes, Claire O’Neill and Andrew Giles have been removed as ministers for home affairs, cyber security, immigration, citizenship and multicultural affairs.
O’Neill will now take over as Minister for Housing and Homelessness and Giles as Minister for Skills and Training. Tony Baker will hold portfolios for Home Affairs, Cyber Security, Immigration and Multicultural Affairs in addition to his current role as Arts Minister. “Good governments aim high, they attract diverse talent and that is the change I am announcing today,” Albanese told reporters in Canberra. I hope that this is the team that will prove to be better in the upcoming elections.’ The change was triggered by the announcement of government ministers Linda Burney and Brendan O’Connor to retire from politics at the next election. Northern Territory (NT) Senator Malarandiri McCarthy will succeed Bernie as Minister for Indigenous Australians.
