Beirut: Apna Punjab Media: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and representatives of Palestinian militias stand and pray near the funeral of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and his bodyguard on Thursday. Haniya and her bodyguard were killed in an airstrike on Israel. This attack has created a threat of widespread regional war. Khamenei prayed while standing near Haniya’s funeral prayer at Tehran University, while Iran’s new President Massoud Pezeshkian stood next to him.
State television later showed that the coffins of Haniya and her bodyguard were loaded onto a truck and driven to Tehran’s Azadi Square as people showered them with flowers. After the funeral prayers in Tehran on Friday, Hania’s body will be taken to Qatar for burial. Haniya was in Tehran to attend Pezeshkian’s swearing-in ceremony.
