Citizens are prohibited from visiting Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir, India-Pakistan border and central and eastern India.
Washington: Apna Punjab Media: America has instructed its citizens not to go to Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir, India-Pakistan border and central and eastern parts of India where Naxalites are active. In the new advisory issued for India, the US State Department said that this new advisory has been issued to give information about the situation in the North-Eastern states. It said, “Vigilance has been increased in India due to crime and terrorism. The danger has increased in some areas. The whole of India has been kept at Level 2 but various parts of the country such as Jammu and Kashmir, the India-Pakistan border, Manipur and various parts of central and eastern India have been kept at Level 4. “Do not travel to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (except the eastern Ladakh region and its capital Leh) due to extremism and unrest,” the State Department said. Also due to the ongoing military conflict on the India-Pakistan border within 10 km of it, one should not travel to Central and Eastern India due to terrorism and Manipur should not be traveled to due to violence and crime.
