We are raising our concerns directly with the Government of India at the highest level: Vedant Patel
Washington: Apna Punjab Media: A US official has said his country expects accountability from India regarding the alleged role of an Indian government employee in the attempted assassination of one of its citizens on US soil last year. Spokesperson Vedant Patel said this in a press conference. In November last year, US prosecutors charged Indian national Nikhil Gupta with trying to kill Sikh separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, an Indian government employee. Gurpatwant Singh Pannu has citizenship of both America and Canada. Nikhil Gupta was arrested from Czech Republic in June last year and extradited to the US on June 14.
Patel said, “We expect accountability from the Indian government regarding the alleged role of an Indian government employee in the attempted assassination of an American citizen on American soil last summer.” “We are raising our concerns directly with the Indian government at the highest levels,” he said. Five Indian nationals have been arrested on charges of planning the attacks.
