Indian Foreign Ministry asked for clarification
Washington: Apna Punjab Media: India’s External Affairs Ministry said Indian students studying in the US are being sent back without any explanation. America has not given any reason for sending back 48 students to India in the last 3 years. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh gave this information in Parliament. A recent trend can be seen in Indian students migrating to different countries for educational purposes as America is one of the favorite destinations on their list. However, it was observed that some students were sent back to their countries without any explanation. The issue came to light when BK Parthasarathy asked foreign officials in the Lok Sabha about the number of students deported by the US in the last three years and the reasons for their deportation. He also asked whether the government has any data on illegal immigrants spread across the world, especially in the US, and whether they have taken any remedial measures in this regard, as reported by Onmanorama and the official Indian Ministry of External Affairs website.
