Amritsar: Apna Punjab Media: Jathedar Singh Sahib of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh has termed the blocking of three Amrit-dhari farmer leaders wearing kirpans from traveling on a domestic flight at Delhi airport as a violation of religious freedom and constitutional rights of Sikhs. In a written statement issued by the Sri Akal Takht Sahib Secretariat, Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh said that the Kirpan is a sacred gift given to the Sikhs by the Gurus and the right to wear the Kirpan has been given to Sikhs in the Indian Constitution. He said Amritdhari Sikhs should be allowed to travel by air in India even on domestic flights wearing kirpans of prescribed size. He said that the Government of India should take immediate cognizance of this matter and take action against the security officials who violated the constitutional and legal norms by preventing the three holy Sikhs from traveling wearing kirpans at the Delhi airport and hold the airport authority responsible. Should be ordained. Should apologize for the mistake.
