London: Apna Punjab Media: Police have arrested 100 people after violent protests broke out at many places in Britain. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has given authorities permission to take strict action against the rioters. Violence broke out in areas such as Liverpool, Bristol, Leeds, Blackpool, Belfast, Nottingham and Manchester where police and crowds clashed. During this period, incidents of stone pelting, arson and vandalism took place. Home Minister Yvette Cooper warned the rioters that they would have to pay the price if they did not desist. Starmer held a high-level meeting with ministers on Saturday, after which Downing Street said the Prime Minister had given the police complete freedom to attack police officers, disrupt businesses and crack down on those who incite sectarian hatred, the Prime Minister said. That there is no place for violence. Groups tracking anti-Muslim incidents in Britain said many British Muslims are worried about their safety and many are not even going to mosques. Minister Diana Johnson told the BBC that people are being intimidated because of skin color and this is not right. The government will deal with this strictly.
He said, “When I saw people looting some shops, I felt that this method of protest is not right. There is a need to deal with such criminal behavior strictly. We have additional jails to keep the accused.”
