Committee on Foreign Affairs (Shashi Tharoor), Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports (Digvijay Singh) from Congress. The Committee on Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Food Processing (Charanjit Singh Channi) and the Committee on Rural Affairs have been chaired. and Panchayati Raj (Sapatgiri hybrid meteor). Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi is a member of the Defense Committee. Former Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai will head the labour, textiles and skill development committee and veteran MP Bhuvaneshwar Kalita has been appointed as chairman of the environment, science and technology panel. Other chairpersons included former Union ministers Anurag Thakur (Coal, Mines and Steel) and Radha Mohan Singh (Defence).
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will remain in the Defense Committee and Congress President and Rajya Sabha LOP Mallikarjun Kharge has decided to withdraw from the standing committees. Sonia Gandhi, now a Rajya Sabha member, was also not included in any panel. The Committee on Communications and Information Technology, a panel that plays a key role in monitoring India’s digital and technological development, is headed by Bharatiya Janata Party’s Nishikant Dubey and one of its members is Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra. Kangana Ranaut, who became MP for the first time, is also a member of the panel.
