J.D. Vance declared vice presidential candidate
Milwaukee: Apna Punjab Media: Former US President Donald Trump attended the Republican National Convention, two days after the fatal attack on him. A white bandage was tied on his right ear. Although Trump did not address the conference, when he appeared on the screen, the people present there welcomed him with applause and slogans.
Trump has become the official candidate of the Republican Party in the presidential election to be held on November 5 after securing the required number of ‘delegates’ votes at the Republican National Convention. Trump met Senator J.D. Vance as his vice presidential candidate. Vance was once critical of Trump, but the two have since become close allies. Vance came into limelight in 2016 with the publication of his memoir ‘Hillbilly Elegy’. He was elected to the Senate in 2022. Vance’s wife Usha Chilukuri Vance (39) is an Indian-American citizen and her family hails from Andhra Pradesh. When Vance accepted his candidacy for Vice President, his wife was also present. However, Usha was a member of the Democratic Party until 2014.
