Sacramento, California (Hussain Ladoa Banga) – One police officer was killed and two others were injured in an ambush on police who arrived at the scene of a disturbance at a house in the central US state of Florida. This information has been given in a statement issued by Lake County Sheriff Peyton Grinnell. He said the shooting happened about 8 p.m. at a home in Eustis, about 40 miles north of Oroland. According to Grinnell, when police officers reached the spot after receiving information about a disturbance in a house, a person present there said that the house where the disturbance took place was different. When Lake County Police officers arrived at the second home, a commotion was taking place inside the home. When the police officers entered through the back door, they were sprayed with bullets. One police officer was trapped inside while the other managed to get out. Meanwhile, other police officers arrived at the scene, the sheriff said. When he moved forward to rescue the police officer trapped inside, he too was fired upon. In response of the police officers, two suspects present inside were killed while one was injured and has been admitted to the regional hospital. According to the sheriff, the police officer trapped inside also died, while another police officer was also injured by gunfire. Police have not released the names of the police officers killed and injured, nor have they released the names of the suspects killed. The sheriff said the investigation is ongoing and he does not know anything else about the shooting.
