Canberra: Apna Punjab Media: Punjab’s largest and busiest Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport, Amritsar has seen a significant increase in international air connectivity since the month of August. Sharing this information, Fly Amritsar Initiative Global Coordinator Smip Singh Gumtala and India Coordinator Yogesh Kamra said that Malaysia Airlines has increased the number of flights between Kuala Lumpur and Amritsar to four per day from August 1. Significant increase in available seats:- Expressing happiness over this increase, he said that apart from the daily flights of Malaysia Airlines, there is a significant increase in the seats available on four weekly flights of Air Asia X and three flights of Batik Air between Kuala Lumpur and Amritsar. Apart from the passengers of Punjab, passengers of neighboring states Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Haryana are also benefiting from these 28 weekly flights. Gumtala said, “We are very happy to see the increasing air connectivity between Amritsar, Punjab and major cities of South East Asia. With the increase in flights, it has now become easier for our community to reach Punjab directly instead of Delhi. Australia Punjabis living in cities like Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth and Auckland in New Zealand can travel to Punjab in just 15 to 18 hours, even after stopping for two to three hours in Kuala Lumpur. Along with this, Scoot, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, also connects passengers to Singapore and Southeast Asia through five flights a week. Through all these airlines, a large number of tourists can come to countries like Bali, Bangkok, Phuket, Vietnam etc. in a very short time and fare.
