Washington: Apna Punjab Media: The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) recovered 3,269 weapons at airport security during the first half of 2024. Accordingly, for the year ending June 30 and in total, an average of 19 weapons are recovered per day at TSA checkpoints. About 94 percent of them were loaded guns. While the number of weapons found is roughly the same at 3,251 during this time last year, the total number of passengers has increased. TSA screened nearly 7 more passengers during the first half of 2024 than the same period in 2023. During the second quarter of 2024, transportation security officers (TSA) screened more than 236 million passengers, compared to 221 million passengers previously. In the first 8 days of July, 166 illegal weapons have been recovered, making a total of 3435 weapons recovered till 8th July.
