New York: Apna Punjab Media: Over 24,000 members of the Indian community living in the US have registered for the mega community event to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi next month. The PM ‘Modi and US Progress Together’ event will be held on September 22 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, which has a seating capacity of 15,000. The Indian-American Community of America (IACU) said more than 24,000 Indian-Americans have registered to attend the grand event, which Modi will address. During his visit to America, Prime Minister Modi will also address the United Nations General Assembly session on September 26. PM Modi’s name is also included in the temporary list of speakers released by the United Nations. IACU said in a statement that 590 community organizations (belonging to the Indian community) have registered for the program in Uniondale, Long Island. They have registered their name as ‘Welcome Partners’ from all over America. Indian Americans from at least 42 states are expected to participate in the event and the campaign has received a good response so far, IACU said.
