Washington: Apna Punjab Media: 2 lakh Indian youth in America are facing the threat of deportation and hopes seem to be fading as time passes. Delay in parents getting green cards can spoil the future of children and the White House is blaming the Republican Party for this problem. The White House has claimed that efforts are being made to legalize about 2.5 lakh children of immigrants who have come to America, but due to the Republican Party’s majority in the House of Representatives, this proposal is not moving forward.
This issue was raised last month by an organization called ‘Improve the Dream’ in a meeting with more than 100 MPs and administrative officials. Founder of the organization Deep Patel said that children who have turned 21 years of age should get immediate relief. Let us tell you that some youth like Zafrina have crossed the age limit. Gefarina told that she came to America in 2005 at the age of 7. Zephyrina’s family applied for a green card in 2010 when she was 12 years old, but Zephyrina’s family did not receive a green card until she was 21 years old. Currently Zefrina is 27 years old and has done MBA from Minnesota University. This is the story of Praneeta, who works as a cloud engineer in Texas, who came to America with her parents at the age of 8.
